The Best Fake Holiday Ever!

Someone on the Internet has decided that February shall henceforth be known as the Month of Letters. As far as arbitrary holidays go, this is about a million times better than Sweetheart Day.

The rules are simple:

1. In the month of February, mail at least one item through the post every day it runs.  Write a postcard, a letter, send a picture, or a cutting from a newspaper, or a fabric swatch.
2. Write back to everyone who writes to you. This can count as one of your mailed items.

That's it. She figures you're going to send 24 letters in total, maybe more if it catches on. I'm so in, if only because it gives me an excuse to play with stamps. Email your address if you want me to mail you something. I might be asking you anyway, so consider this fair warning.

What could be better than a sparkly sweater? Why, heavily-spiked eggnog, of course!

Dear old college friend,
Dinner is going to be delicious and our conversation even tastier.

Dear Ben,
Good luck with your root canal.  I hope you don't have to scream at that stupid dental technician like last time.

Dear freshly-baked carrot pineapple muffins,
You're sitting on my cooling rack as we speak, taunting me with what must be the toastiest, most comforting freshly-baked muffin smell there ever was.  You are not long for this world, sweet muffins.

Frustration

Dear Readers,

This morning I wanted to share my favorite wake-up song with you. It's a perfect mix of pump-up and inspiration and always sets the stage for a wonderful day.

But I was thwarted. By my very own blog. Oh, the betrayal! Apparently there's no easy way to post mp3 files to Blogger. WTFuck, Blogger? Why do you stymie me so???

If one of you has a suggestion for embedding mp3 files in blogs, please let me know. There has to be a way to do this, right? I searched Google briefly to figure this out, but all I found was a bunch of mumbo-jumbo about HTML and URLs and Flash - all things I could figure out if I had an hour to puzzle through them. But I don't.
